Every year in the United States 1400-1600 cases of Shaken Baby Syndrome are reported. We are the families of the children in this statistic so widely used. This year, The Shaken Baby Syndrome Support Network will host the 4th Annual Shaken Baby Syndrome Candlelight Vigil.

Today, as we look to our own community, there is a need for education and awareness of SBS here at home, and you have the power to help us do so. The mission of the Annual Candlelight Vigil is to bring together families with shared circumstances and to raise public awareness about Shaken Baby Syndrome. The vigil provides a unique opportunity for families of SBS victims and survivors to come together and share their experience and their knowledge with each other as well as public organizations and members of society. Information regarding medical treatment and therapy assistance, as well as information on how to handle grief, and how those not personally affected can prevent SBS, will be available to all who attend.

The Candlelight Vigil strives to establish a support system for families of SBS victims and survivors. By linking families together who have shared this traumatic experience, we can help each other to learn, to grow, and to prevent this from happening to other innocent children.  We invite you, The Families of Shaken Baby Syndrome, and all those that support us!

Place: Little Rock, Arkansas
Date: Friday April 23th, 2009
Time: 7:00p.m to 8:30p.m.
Please join us in securing a better future for our children.

Sincerely,
Rachel Sumner
